Equations for Device Analysis and Comparison of Stroke

The cycliodal motion of the piston will allow the expansion of the combustion volume to expand more slowly for a given RPM than the conventional crank-slider motion piston. The conventional piston expansion is a function of the connecting rod length and crank radius (stroke). The expansion rate of the conventional engine is about 1.35 times the Wiseman engine for the same stroke and bore engine.

L – Displacement of the piston from dead top
r1 - Length of the connecting rod
r2 – Radius of crank shaft or inter pinion shaft gear
r3 and r4 – Lengths as shown
Rotate – The rotation angle of the power shaft
